'Genetically Engineered Foods' -Too Great a Risk!

Bob, has been the Director of the Australian GeneEthics Network, since 1988. An organisation dedicated to forcing Governments to correctly identify and label all foods produced by genetic engineering or containing their products, and give people a say as to whether these products should be introduced or not.

Genetic engineering can be used to transfer DNA over species boundaries, to alter any living organism. GE crops and the foods they produce pose unacceptable risks. Key points to be covered on the night;-

• Victoria is a GE-Free State.
• The State Government Should Keep Victoria a GE-Free State.
• GE crops and foods offer no benefits, only risks, hazards, and costs.
• Research and Development budgets should focus on solving real environmental and public health problems, not promoting a technology just for commercial gain.
